Derby Time!

This year we not only have two boys in scouts... Loren is also the Cub Master! So away we go.

McKay took this very seriously. Logan, not so much. McKenna just wanted to play with the cars.

Not our best showing... but we had great fun!

Roman Festival

We love the boy's school, Anthem Prepatory Academy, so much. This spring they had a cute little Roman Festival.

They played games, wore togas, painted pottery and competed in games. I love how they make history come alive!

I love to see the Temple

McKenna and I happened to be down in Phoenix one day and we decided to swing by the Temple.

The sweet gentlemen inside let her walk around the lobby, and gave her some Temple pictures.

Now she thinks every building with a steeple is a Temple!

Loren's brother Kevin invited us to vacation with them in Vegas this year. With the new overpass we can make that drive quickly, so we jumped at the chance! First, I had to stomp everyone at the camel races and win McKenna a bunny.

Then, we stopped to watch the free circus show. McKay was picked to be part of the show, of course.

Then we had to hammer some chickens into a pot! We went to Tournament of Kings that evening. The boys liked it, McKenna was a little unsure. Ireland never wins!

Later, we tried to eat with chopsticks. There was varying levels of success.

After Kevin and the grandparents went home we decided to swing by the Children's Museum.

McKenna just wanted to stay and play with the water all day.

Logan was more interested in building and engineering.

Both boys showed some interest in the veterinary world.

(No animals were harmed in the making of this post).

McKenna liked to have all the boys helping her to move.

These engineers got to work and let many a table with new and exciting creations.

A quick stop for lunch and we were ready to head back to the Valley of the Sun!

Nature Boys

Every year we take the kiddos to the AZ Game and Fish Outdoor Expo. We pet a tortoise...

Or two..

Then catch a fish...

Or two...

Then after dropping Logan off at a birthday party we took McKay out for a date at a crab shack.

Honestly, this was the happiest I've ever seen him. He went through a pound and showed no signs of slowing.

Poor little girl couldn't keep up with all the man time!

Easter!

We started off our Easter weekend by going to our annual neighborhood cascarones party! I was a little worried how McKenna would feel about confetti eggs getting smashed, but she got into the spirit.

Not as much as the boys did, though!

Although they went after their friends, their favorite targets were each other!

We made a huge mess and everyone had great fun.

I picked confetti out for days.

Easter was during primary season, so McKenna enjoyed some shaker eggs with her voting.

The Easter Bunny brought BYU vs. Arizona football tickets!

This little cutie had no idea what was going on, but had a great time finding eggs. She preferred the pink eggs.

He's just happy for the candy.

Spring Break!

Spring Break is amazing in Arizona! We started it off by having lunch with some friends that were visiting from out of town. The best part was that McKay used his 'ticket's to buy McKenna a new crown! Such a sweet boy!

Next we hit the zoo! Logan got a little turned around, which led to twenty minutes of panic, but all was well in the end. We still managed to have some fun, mostly in the water. The boys were not too interested in the animals (no pandas).

Then we tried Scouts! The boys had to make something out of recycling--they chose jet packs! Great choice! So smart and creative!

Of course, no spring break is complete without some swimming at Julie's.

Finally, we went to Enchanted Island. The kids loved playing on the few rides available. They stayed for a few hours, until finally I was able to pry them away with the promise of ice cream.
