First Day of School

After a busy summer we settled back into our school year.  Logan started second grade and McKay started first.  This is my first year with them gone all day, and I'm thinking it is going to be a little lonely.

Logan is in Mrs. Wilcox's class, he excels in math and reading.  McKay is in Mrs. Murdaugh's class, he excels at spatial and kinesthetic learning.  He is mostly excited about getting two recesses this year.

They are going to their second year at Anthem Preparatory Academy.  I sure love these sweet boys!

Jumpstreet!

Once each summer the boys get to go to the trampoline park, Jumpstreet.  They get bouncy houses, trampolines, and foam pits.  It is a little boy's dream.

McKay doesn't hold back.

Neither does Logan.  He loves to play tag on the trampolines.

These two boys crashed early on, but McKay was able to shake off most of his injury.

McKenna was able to bounce and slide a bit...

Before dozing off mid-bounce!

Later she took some tentative steps

Baby smiles for all!

Last San Diego Post! (Whew)

The last night we took the kiddos to the beach.  Thanks for taking the pictures, Aunt Julie!

The boys went crazy for the beach.

McKenna liked it as well, but only wanted the water to go up to her ankles

You can tell by the full on dimple that McKay was having the time of his life.

Aaaaaannnnddd he got soaked.

So did Logan.

While the boys were collecting seaweed we were able to have a minute.

Or two.

Later we practiced our 'foot'writing

The dug in the sand

And played a little toss the baby.

She was not amused.

What an amazing trip!

San Diego Part 5

Do you know what my favorite animal is?  The red panda.  Look how cute:

Can you even stand the cuteness?

The main reason we came to the zoo was to see the pandas.  McKay has been collecting pandas since he was three.

You can see the mommy panda in the back.

Mommy panda with the whole family.

Baby panda with my little baby panda.  McKay was walking through the zoo in his panda hat when a bus tour mentioned the baby panda and had all the passengers stop to wave to him.

Just in case pandas are exciting.

Then we had to climb on all the animals.  Extinct tigers...

And elephants...

Oh my.

Then we had to climb some trees by the koalas.

Both monkeys had to do it.

And a little peek-a-boo with Julie.

Ending the day with a little hula hooping to a band.

They are much better than I am.

Mom, can I get this?

San Diego Part 4

Julie has never been to LegoLand. How is that even possible?  We obviously had to remedy that situation.  So we packed up the kiddos and headed back.

First stop, a minion.

Lucky girl won a large minion right away, and then was the envy of little kids the rest of the day.

McKenna was a little unsure of her stroller mate, but she liked the tag.

Then Aunt Julie and McKenna got to meet Wyld Styles from the Lego Movie.

The boys were interested in checking out actual sets from the movie.

Then on to driving!

When I tried to help I only slowed them down.  A worker had to come help me pump this fire truck.

These two monkeys got a little climbing in as well.  McKay is quite the climber, he went right for the top.

This was the only ride McKenna could do.  Poor baby.

When there is a pirate ride you obviously need to go, right?

Aahhhhhh..... nap time.

The boys got to go build lego heros and sample cars.  I love how McKay perches on his chair.

Logan is very intent on his figurine, he is very interested in inventing.

McKenna mostly wants to get the legos in her mouth, but will do some playing.

On the walk home she finally gives out... and falls asleep with her hand over her face.
